Lily is an award-winning director, working in the UK and overseas.

 

As the winner of the 2025 RTST Sir Peter Hall Director Award, Lily’s current engagement is a UK tour of Jane Eyre, adapting Sally Cookson’s version of Brontë’s novel. Hailed as ‘a feast for the senses’, this ‘agile, visceral, and nimbly executed’ production will tour to the Mercury, the Rose, Storyhouse, and Northern Stage this Autumn.

 

Over the last year, Lily has also directed Lucy Prebble’s A Very Expensive Poison (Mountview), and her own adaptation of Corrinne Averiss's My Pet Star (Marlowe Theatre) — a musical for which Lily wrote the book and lyrics. Lily’s previous engagements as a director include work for the Theatre Royal Bath, Opera North, Welsh National Opera, and Opera Holland Park.

 

As an associate director, Lily has worked across the West End, Broadway, and the National Theatre. Highlights include working with Joe Mantello (Death of a Salesman, Winter Garden, Broadway; Here We Are, National Theatre), Nicholas Hytner (Guys and Dolls, Richard II, Bridge Theatre), Nadia Fall (Abigail’s Party, Theatre Royal Stratford East), and Patrick Marber (Glengarry Glen Ross, Old Vic; The Producers, Garrick Theatre West End).
